ABSTRACT

There was a marvellous point where we were discussing subsidy and Arthur Miller suddenly started speaking. And he spoke for about ten minutes. He said there's nothing else that's worth talking about in this country. It was as though he'd come down from the mountain, and he'd brought the tablets, and was just reading them out. And there is something very Mount Rushmore about him, very Moses bringing the tablets down. And it was very eerie.
