ABSTRACT

Stage pictures are static images that create the look that carries the feeling of the scene and promotes its understanding. The inclusion of different elevations allows for better stage pictures and should be used whenever possible. Stage pictures can be enhanced when the elements within the picture are separated by contrast. Strong stage pictures provide the director with a powerful tool to communicate his or her concept to the audience. The closer the actors are to the audience, the greater the audience's perception of their importance. The strength of the angle of the actor relative to the audience has an immediate impact on the audience. The angle of the actor relative to the audience is directly related to the angle relative to his or her partner. Movement is one of the most powerful tools for focusing the audience's attention.
