ABSTRACT

The no-blame system model provides better protection for individual rights, improved understanding of the deeper causes of both positive and negative behavior, and a clearer focus on the systemic elements that shape behavior and cultures. It also opens the way for a more empirically adequate understanding of natural free will, and of how to protect and enhance it. The basic structure of a genuine alternative to the moral responsibility system is taking shape, and it is an alternative that fosters human freedom, offers better workplace opportunities, strengthens social connectedness, and promises better means of understanding and correcting criminal behavior.
