ABSTRACT
Chapter 6 functions like a bonus chapter. It was not part of the study represented in chapters 2–5, but it illustrates how the author uses Angie Thomas’ book The Hate U Give to approach Antiracist Black Language Pedagogy in my English education courses for preservice teachers. Through several Black Language Artifacts, the chapter shows how African American literature can provide a rich foundation for students to explore how identity is conceived through language expression and how African American literature is an important vehicle work toward dismantling Anti-Black Linguistic Racism.
