ABSTRACT
So, we have reached the end of our journey! I have had a marvellous time writing this book, and I hope you have enjoyed learning about the history, context, insights and future that social psychology offers. I also hope that along the way you have been inspired to think about the ways in which social psychology explains some of your own behaviour, and that of others. Finally, I would be really pleased if this book has inspired you to look further into the discipline. As you have seen, each of the chapters presents a number of recommended readings. Some of these are textbooks which explore a given area in more depth; others are papers which summarise a given field, or that I feel have been particularly influential. However, don’t let the list restrict you! More and more, the research produced by social psychologists is available as ‘open access’: this means that the academic journals it is published in make it available, free of charge, for anyone to view. Various search engines (including Google Scholar) let anybody access this growing repository – so find a topic you are interested in, search and learn! I hope the end of this book represents the start of your longer journey of exploring social psychology. Enjoy!
