ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the key rules, procedures and steps that inform the ethnographic enquiry at the heart of the research and how they were implemented. It presents the ethnographic enquiry, outlines the research questions guiding the enquiry and discusses the activities it undertook in preparation thereof. The chapter introduces the research participants who made a substantial contribution to the research in acknowledgement of their generous support. It utilizes pseudonyms to refer to each one of them and the companies, organisations and projects for which they work. The chapter describes the research methods it applied to gather the data required to answer the research questions and focuses on the potential impact these methods might have on the findings of the research under discussion. Many scholars highlight the significance of abiding by ethical imperatives when conducting research with participants.
