ABSTRACT
Aristotle insists that a good story must have the proper length and scope. This requires it to have a unity of action, one defined by a hero’s objective. That objective is something dramatizable, not abstract. And while a story may have multiple storylines and subplots, they must all bear a necessary or probable connection to the central dramatic question of whether or not the hero will accomplish that objective.
