ABSTRACT

You may already have ideas of your own about teaching students how to write about objects; however you might find some of these tips useful. This sample lesson plan can be broken down into more than one session; it all depends on how much time you have, and your objectives for your students. The following plan is a simple guide, covering steps 1-6, which you can choose to follow, or simply pick elements that support your own objectives and fit your time frame. Two working examples are also given, one with 11-12 year old students and the other with 13-14 year old students. You can see examples of students’ writing connected to these sessions on pages 66-72.
