ABSTRACT
Different organisations and different industries have varying safety maturity levels. The degree of maturity has a direct impact on the tools and approaches that they should take. Less mature organisations may still benefit from traditional safety methods while those that are more mature may be better placed to take the next step in developing new thinking towards improvement. However, some of the traditional approaches may be detrimental to future improvements and should be considered in light of that.
