ABSTRACT
Every discipline, whether scientific or not, has a language of its own. There are terms that the practitioners of the discipline have found or coined to more precisely describe their work or the materials with which they deal. Indeed, it has been suggested that a discipline without a language of its own has made little progress as consistency in terminology and methods is necessary for scientific practice.
