ABSTRACT
People will largely do what they are primarily rewarded and recognized for. Contributors were recognized and again the leading vote gatherers were rewarded through modest gifts. Through this process, a couple of the submissions were given the resources required to completely build out, in this case, mobile applications. Recognize or reward the efforts of stakeholders to innovate even at the smallest levels. Innovation in every industry is as challenging as it is elusive, part science, part art and part magic. As the world’s leading cyber security company, innovation is core to Symantec’s mission, and in our experience, the best way to spark innovation is to create a culture where it is a fundamental part of everyone’s day-to-day work. Protecting intellectual property is an important part of commercializing innovation. An effective patent program not only encourages employees to protect the IP developed by their novel ideas, it can also help spur breakthrough innovation.
