ABSTRACT

Heinrich Sabl (born in 1961 in Gorlitz/GDR) started out as a locksmith. His objective was to work in the theatre as a technician. It was then that he became interested in puppetry. He studied puppetry at Ernst Busch Drama School in East Berlin and turned to stop-motion filmmaking, producing animated short films (including Pere Ubu and Mere Ubu), and devoting most of his lifetime to finishing a stop-motion feature film titled Memory Hotel. The global networking, however, is, considering the distribution of animated films, a true chance, but the creators should not have to wait for getting reimbursed. A source of inspiration is always found in musicians, creative artists, filmmakers, and writers. Maybe in the future there will be young film enthusiasts who will take Memory Hotel as a source of their inspiration.
