ABSTRACT

Evaluation and follow-up are crucial steps in the total group counseling process and should not be viewed as appendages to be added on to the group experience. Evaluation is a necessary and significant factor in the group facilitator’s effort to provide effective help to group members. The group facilitator should engage in a process of developing self-awareness and be open to feedback from group members. A systematic and effective evaluation procedure can greatly enhance the facilitative efforts of the group leader. As a part of this comprehensive approach, the chapter explores several methods of assessing the leader and the group as a whole.
