ABSTRACT

This chapter continues to describe the present, according to this book’s reckoning, with a sketch of the first decade and a half of the current century through key scientific discoveries (such as genetics, which is especially relevant for the dialogue of science and religion). Next, three key thinkers are considered who exemplify this era, as well as the models of independence, conflict, and collaboration: they are Stephen Jay Gould, Richard Dawkins, and Francis Collins.
