Introduction

Lynn is small of stature and always wears her hood pulled up. Amanda is taller but slighter of frame. We walk down Cranfield Street ¹ and I reiterate the idea for this Women’s Group photography workshop—to take pictures of the past, the future, a self-portrait, London life. . . . Lynn needs no further encouragement and goes to take a picture of two people drinking coffees outside a café. ‘That’s London life,’ she says, ‘that’s what people in London do.’
