ABSTRACT
The theoretical significance of your project is instrumental to the success of your proposal. This is the main intellectual factor by which your proposal is judged, as it describes how you will be making an exciting contribution to the field. This chapter explains how to discuss the relevant theoretical literature to the anticipated review panel, with a focus on how to highlight your unique contributions to the field. Two theoretical orientation and significance examples, drawn from successfully funded proposals, are discussed and decoded.
