Despite the musing attributed to Albert Einstein, time is an important consideration for estimators. Sometimes it will be on our side and other times, it will seem to be against us – especially when we have a deadline to meet. It is certainly something we need to consider when it comes to issues of data normalisation, as we discussed in Volume I Chapter 6.
