Chapter 1 introduces the concept of governance and the three focus topics of this investigation of the seafood supply chain: nutrition, food safety and quality, and sustainability. It then provides an introduction to theories of regulation and governance, notes the agents of governance involved in pursuing them in Britain and ends with the outline of the rest of the book.
