ABSTRACT

There is no better way to see the world than to go on a singing tour, combining concerts with sightseeing. Conductors may prefer to plan and manage their trip without the assistance of tour companies if they have the time, desire, and capability to book concert venues, flights, and hotels, advertise the concerts, hire a bus, and take care of the many other details that will arise. Although planning the trip themselves brings the cost down, a tour company can assure security and peace of mind. Whatever schedule the tour company comes up with, there is likely to be some flexibility if conductor request something a bit different. On the day of concerts, if possible, a long walking tour is not advisable. Choir tours will motivate singers to work even harder during the year leading up to the tour, for they will want people from other cultures to appreciate their music-making efforts.
