ABSTRACT

This book describes over 30 tools and techniques that can help career practitioners to have more effective career conversations. This introductory chapter offers some key definitions and explains how the book is structured, highlighting the emphasis on the theoretical and empirical underpinning for each tool and offering some suggestions for how readers can best capitalise on the content of the chapters ahead. The chapter touches on the importance of ethical and reflective practice and explains the underlying coaching philosophy of the author.
