ABSTRACT

The basis for agreement within the scientific world is the use of unified language of notions understood by all scientists worldwide. In this chapter, basic notions used in science are explained. They include paradigm, scientific theory, scientific research, thesis, hypothesis, research works methodology, and research tools and techniques. The use of appropriate research questions is significant in the development of science. These questions allow for the specification of research problems and the search for dependent and independent variables. The issue of defining and explanation of basic notions was taken up in that chapter. The manner of scientific research was described in accordance with grounded theory.
