ABSTRACT

Through the authors various medical appointments following the conclusion of his intensive rehabilitation experience, he understood that he had made an excellent recovery. In the past he might have had some smart, entertaining or sarcastic response to a question about life's troubles, this time it was different. In this instance, such an approach didn't work as well as the crash attacked the centre of his being, his ambition. As the training wheels came off, he came to realise that no one could be there to hold his hand for the rest of his life. He had thankfully managed to escape The Bleakness, the successful resolution of this was not a magic bullet that would restore his ambitions to their pre-crash state. As part of his attempt to bring some light to his darker days, he then thought that maybe he could learn a bit of perspective by listening to what the people around him said about brain injury.
