ABSTRACT
Not all common pool institutions evolved towards exclusive access regimes. Access to the Campine commons was a privilege for all community members that was actively used by all households until at least the end of the sixteenth century. The account book of the common pool institution of Zandhoven is used to illustrate the access regime in the late medieval Campine.
