ABSTRACT

Many children and adults suffer from anxiety at some point or in some area of their lives. Young children show that they are feeling anxious through their behaviour. If anxiety is starting to be a problem for Professionals or their child, it is important for them to know that anxiety can be overcome. When people worry a lot of the time, the anxiety and isolation can become mixed up with depression. Most anxious people have had some past of experiences that have been very difficult for them. The anxiety they feel is usually understandable in relation to these past experiences. However it is important to decide whether the anxiety is helpful or unhelpful in the circumstances of the present. People who let anxiety dominate their lives - worrying about all the awful things that could possibly happen, or what others will think - often find that their self-confidence gradually gets weaker and weaker.
