ABSTRACT

Teachers who work with primary age children base their teaching on a structured set of curriculum tools. This allows them to assess professionals' child's progress, and to identify the difficulties they are having. Children and parents do not always know what these assessments are looking at. This leaflet attempts to give Professionals an idea of the some of the different areas of skill in writing that is commonly developed. Children can use it to think about their own work and next steps. The majority of children enjoy school work if they are encouraged at home and at school and feel that they understand and can achieve regular success. Many of the children who have difficulties with maths simply need a lot more practice with basic number bonds. That is practice with the ways that 3 numbers can be linked using addition and subtraction, and other sets of 3 numbers can be linked with multiplying and dividing.
