ABSTRACT
The PowerPoint presentation provides schools with an insight into preparing and delivering lessons on mental health. The slides provide an overview with facilitator notes and activities to promote greater understanding and knowledge of the topic areas. Also included are activities intended for use with the pupils. The idea is that if staff experience some of the lessons they will be better prepared, as questions and issues will arise through discussion with colleagues. The slides are intended to be used as INSET or twilight sessions, or a selection of them could be used to introduce the programme at a staff meeting. The PowerPoint covers: social and Emotional Aspects of Learning; Facts and Figures; Risk and Resilience; Mental Health Topic Areas; Mental Illness on a Continuum; Mental Health Disorders; and Ground rules.
