ABSTRACT

Problem-solving module aims to equip pupils with the skills needed to become independent; to be able to identify their own difficulties and to develop the skills that are needed to avert or resolve problems and confrontations with both peers and adults. It offers pupils the opportunities to put into practice some of the skills learned in previous modules. By building on their improved social and assertiveness skills and encouraging good listening skills this module will offer pupils the tools they need to become assertive, confident young people both in and out of school. The group leader can decide how many cards they want to use depending on the abilities of the pupils in the group. A box or large envelope can be used for this. A member of the group selects a situation from the cauldron and the group work together to find a solution.
