ABSTRACT

On a scale of 1–10, where 1 is difficult and 10 is easy, how do you feel about choosing and introducing a topic with:

just one friend?

a mixed group of friends in a casual setting?

people from your workplace in a formal setting?

In any conversation a useful topic to talk about will be whatever the other speaker is mentioning at the time, and the key here is to listen to them carefully and try to extend their point by making a comment of your own about the same subject. However, have you ever been in a conversation that has become awkwardly quiet and worried that you will not be able to think of anything to say?
