ABSTRACT

A curious mind is open, active and ready to learn. Children are born learners. Young children learn a countless number of things every day, not because somebody is telling them to but because learning is as natural to them as breathing. Laughter is important for the learning process. It stimulates the brain’s limbic system, which is said to be responsible for long-term memory. Laughter also reduces the levels of cortisol, a stress hormone; this is important because stress is known to account for a high percentage of all learning difficulties. Teachers who know how to entertain students are almost always sure to get their message across. Some teachers say that it is not their job to make learning interesting. In their opinion they are supposed to teach their subject and not to entertain their audience.
