ABSTRACT
Chapter 8 describes and critiques the development of England’s national curriculum up to the review initiated by the UK government in preparation for the version of the national curriculum currently (2021) in force. It contrasts the official account of curriculum aims, content and priorities with that proposed by the Cambridge Primary Review.
