ABSTRACT
Chapter 2 outlines the aims and scope of the Cambridge Primary Review (2006–10), the biggest and most comprehensive enquiry into the condition and future of primary education in England for half a century, and harks back to the Plowden report of 1967 in order to identify suggest lessons for this, its successor.
