ABSTRACT

Trust boosters seek to maintain and sustain a high trust level in the school. These leaders understand that securing resources is critical to the mission of learning. Resources include good teachers, training, equipment, incentives, and other supports. However, leaders know that resources are not limited to money. Some of the most important resources school leaders utilize are the talents and special skills of others. Leaders acknowledge the importance of developing a network of relationships with personnel in all the other units in the school district and beyond. Effective leaders understand the concept of interdependence and build relationships with the curriculum department, the superintendent's office, and the maintenance staff, to name a few. They know that these relationships are often keys to identifying whom to ask in securing resources and to get assistance when help is needed. Trust-boosting leaders acknowledge their responsibility to actively strategize to find that way.
