Placement Assessment and Developmental Measures in an Intensive English Program

Chapter 3 discusses some aspects of assessment in the Intensive English Program at the University of Pittsburgh. The principal focus is on the IEP’s review of its placement testing practices and how cut scores can be established and confirmed both quantitatively and qualitatively. In addition, the final examination procedures at the IEP and various aspects of assessment rubric design are discussed.
