ABSTRACT

During its war on the Vietnamese people, the US engaged in a massive and widespread military campaign to destroy communism in South Vietnam. Prior to the war, the US sought to impede the agreed-upon framework for reunifying the country. This, too, was part of a plan to eliminate the viability of communism in Vietnam—a US prerequisite for reunification. The key to achieving its objective of a communist-free Vietnam was the destruction of the communist political group by killing members of the group as such. Thus, the US is responsible for genocide in Vietnam.
