ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book aims to increase understanding and awareness of why these difficulties are so prevalent, and to put them into context. It discusses the larger context, including how unconsciousness has its roots in childhood. The book aims to encourage clinicians to recognise how we are all affected, how typically unconscious we all are. We are separated by a matter of degrees. With this understanding, the idea is for therapists to develop a personal interest and go on to read more on the subject, potentially starting a journey of self-discovery. If we think this is for us, then we will be motivated to learn more, eventually internalising the information and developing our own awareness.
