ABSTRACT

A very common feeling among disaffected students is that of failure. Their perception is that they are 'stupid' or 'no good' at school. Often this has more to do with teaching and learning styles that don't engage them positively in the lesson, coupled with a lack of self-belief. Understanding that there is more than one way to be intelligent provides a huge self-esteem boost to students who currently don't feel that they are successful learners. This session focuses students on profiling where their natural intelligences lie, and relating these to their strengths within the National Curriculum.
