ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on Key Stage 2. Topics and stories found in this key stage provide ideas for enhancing knowledge and language of story/topic. Many of the ideas and activities can be used in other stories and topics with just the content within the activity changed. Romans and Ancient Egypt are two topics chosen to show how activities can be designed around topics. There are obviously many topics covered at Key Stage 2; however, these should show ranges of activities and what they work on. Many of the activities can be changed to suit different topics. These sessions can be used to pre-teach and/or support the story that is being studied in the classroom or used as a story to work on over a series of sessions to encourage language and communication skills.
