ABSTRACT

The final chapter of the book summarizes why it can be so difficult to rewrite the rules when there is a clear norm or ‘crab bucket’ of what the relationship rules should be. The chapter encourages us to go easy on ourselves – and others – when rewriting the rules. It considers how we might practice self-care in terms of grounding ourselves, being kind with ourselves, making space in our lives for reflection, and working with others to change the social rules around us.
