ABSTRACT

Exploring social perception makes group members aware of how they interact with other people and how they feel about themselves relates to the communities in which they live. Reviewing the main points of the previous session reminds people of what they have learnt. Asking them how they managed their homework assignment creates the expectation that homework assignments will be completed shows interest and enables group members to support each other. Encourage individuals to quote personal experiences of how they have been affected. If facilitators have thought through the many communities facilitators belong to and the benefits facilitators derive from them, it will help facilitators to draw out benefits from the group members. Completing the exercise for their own situation will provide facilitators with a good idea of how group members will feel doing the exercise and what difficulties they might encounter. Complete the exercise by doing a brief summary of their statements.
