What to do Start by explaining to the group that low self-esteem can be the result of trying too hard to keep up with what is happening to us and the pace of modern life. This might be at work or in our private life. We may live surrounded by modern technology, in crowded towns or cities, or environments in which everyone is rushed and busy. If we are continually pedalling at full speed, the strain is going to show after a time. This can lead to us thinking we are not good enough to keep up and that we lack ability. More doubts start creeping in, adding to the pressure and draining our self-esteem. The way to avoid this happening is to take regular breaks, restore yourself and allow your mind to calm down. There are a variety of ways to do this.
