ABSTRACT

So we generally remember the event that started the story (B), the climax (HP), and then how the story ended (E) – usually about three episodes.

Reportable experiences can be very dramatic – one participant on a course related how she had been robbed at gunpoint – but they can also be very trivial indeed: momentarily forgetting where you parked your car; an irritating phone call; finding something you had just mislaid – just as long as there is something that makes the event stand out in our minds.
