ABSTRACT

If people are facilitating a conference for an 'experienced' class, which means they have already participated in a few conferences, it will be a simple matter of asking them to set up the room for a conference. The script represents a plan, a 'mud map', to assist people in managing the conference process. As a beginner, one should be well served to stick closely to the questions and their particular sequence. Students and teachers making up the classroom 'community' are now given the opportunity to share their feelings and thoughts about what has happened before, during and after the incident. If there are issues that have not been fully aired, or needs that have not yet been met, it will become apparent in this phase. Most victims will be satisfied with acknowledgement and apology and less concerned with material reparation if they have facilitated the conference by following the script.
