ABSTRACT

Silence exercises should always be short. Sometimes, children who are very restless may need a long time before they feel able to close their eyes and listen to the silence all by themselves. The player who does not move for the longest time is the ‘King of Statues’ and can be rewarded by, for example, becoming the leader for the next round. Individual players need to know each other well already, and to trust each other, in order for them to agree to a ‘blind’ walk. Instead of plants growing and wilting, one can also perform the opening of a flower in the morning, and the closing in the evening; the slow coming to life and dying down again of a fire; the approach, arrival and departure of a storm, and so on. The Telegram game can also be played as a competition between several groups. The group which was able to concentrate best on tactile impressions is the winner.
