ABSTRACT

The Party Constitution stipulates that the entire Party membership 'should practice Marxism and not revisionism, should unite and not split, and should be open and aboveboard and not intrigue and conspire'. The most basic of the 'three do's and three don't's principles as set forth by Chairman Mao is that we must practice Marxism and not revisionism. Marxism and revisionism are two systems of thought which are fundamentally opposed to each other. The starting point of the basic line during the historical period of socialism as prescribed by Chairman Mao is to consolidate the proletarian dictatorship, prevent the restoration of capitalism, and undertake the socialist revolution to the end. Upholding the unity of the Party is the priceless treasure which assures that victory will be achieved in the proletarian revolution. Insisting on being open and aboveboard or engaging in intrigue and conspiracy is the dividing line between the proletarian revolutionary and the bourgeois careerist.
