ABSTRACT

Imagine a mountain road. In the summer time, when the weather is dry and there is clear visibility, you hardly notice the lane markings or the snow poles alongside the road. In the winter time, when fog, snow, and ice take hold, it is quite a relief to see the road markings and know you are heading in the right direction. This analogy applies to performance indicators. They are useful to check whether actual performance (reality) matches the plan and to quickly identify deviations from the plan. The review meetings bring the team together to evaluate past performance and identify improvement areas.
