ABSTRACT

begins with a short literature review of the key approaches to the study of trust relative to IR. It then highlights their shortcomings in the context of this study, prior to reviewing the foundational cognitive literature on trust out of which the conceptual framework is borne. This leads on to the actual presentation of the conceptual framework, where its various constitutive components, tools and functions are presented and discussed, to outline both how the conceptual framework positions itself within the cognitivist landscape and how it distinguishes itself as a framework for analysis from existing/competing models.
