ABSTRACT

This is a case where the coach does not favor team building and team development. They have a clear frame of reference for the way they lead teams. The coach and players present an intact team, which means a straightforward team development stage model approach might not be the ideal strategy guiding solutions to the issues facing them. This is a complex case requiring students to think through each issue and develop an approach they feel will meet the competing demands presented. Stage models of team development alone will not be sufficient for this case; the reader must go further in considering the situation.
