ABSTRACT

An ethical framework that’s rights and social justice based is a bit more complicated than it seems at first blush. If one stops to think about it, at least part of it seems like putting the cart before the horse. The part that leaves the horse out front is the part that’s an ethical framework based on rights. An ethical framework based on rights can also go by the name of deontology. Autoethnography has done this well, and we can learn much from its epiphanies regarding the matter. And to foreshadow for the reader where all this is going, the author eventually explore thinking of home and being from not in terms of being from a place, but in terms of being from a time while being through being-with. This has been a useful slogan around which to motivate people. However, we’re at a point at which we might attend to a useful specificity regarding the personal and the political.
