ABSTRACT

The Sexual Risk Behavior Beliefs and Self-Efficacy scales were developed to measure important psychosocial variables affecting sexual risk-taking and protective behavior. The AIDS Attitude Scale measures attitudes about AIDS and people who have AIDS or are infected with HIV. The scale can be used to differentiate people who are more empathetic or tolerant toward people who are infected with HIV from those who are less tolerant or empathetic. The Safe Sex Behavior Questionnaire was designed to measure frequency of use of recommended practices that reduce one’s risk of exposure to, and transmission of, HIV. The Brief Seroadaptive Assessment Tool is a self-administered, computerized questionnaire that can be used in clinical, community, and research settings to quickly assess a range of behavioral strategies men who have sex with men use to manage their HIV risk. The Choose Your Own Sexual Adventure task is a semi-behavioral measure of sexual risk-taking that employs normative sexual risk scores for greater accuracy.
