ABSTRACT

The real verification of philosophical truth lies in the subjective discovery that is at once a discovery and a validation of the truth in question. There is a certain advantage in outlining one’s methodology for establishing truth and one’s criteria of truth at the beginning of one’s investigation. It is a human capacity to know that whenever one is able to discover some necessary truth about oneself, that selfsame truth is at the same time reflective of and vouchsafed to be true of the human condition, per se. In knowing a philosophical truth one knows not only the content of the truth, but one also knows that the truth is known as a necessary truth and one knows how one comes to know the content of the truth as a necessary truth. Philosophical truths are not simply like the truths of mathematics, because they are not concerned only with the relationship among numbers or the spatial configurations of objects.
